Training School

We are planning a training school as hands-on experience in the lab. The following topic will be addressed within the 2 days.

Measuring flavonoids in plant leaves – Susanne Neugart et al. (University of Goettingen)

Visualizing antioxidant enzyme activities – Czégény Gyula et al. (University of Pécs)

UVR8 and UV exposure – Gareth Jenkins et al. (Glasgow University)

Measuring epidermal UV transmittance – Wolfgang Bilger et al. (University of Kiel)

Bursaries

UV4Plants is offering 4 bursaries of 300 Euros each to early-stage researchers. More information here.

Intercomparison of Dualex instruments

Quite many colleagues are using the Dualex Scientific instrument or a similar device for the assessment of UV screening compounds. As we have noticed that there can be differences in the readings between instruments in the order of 0.2 Flav units, we are planning an intercomparison of these instruments using specific leaf samples. Everybody can bring his/her instrument.

For the local organizing committee
Prof. Dr. Susanne Neugart
Dr. Tobias Pöhnl
