UV4Plants is in Kiel.
Dear participants,we will conduct the virtual UV4Plants Network Meeting via “Zoom” and use the platform “Mattermost” as a base for sharing general information, individual notes and files in parallel. Free access to this secure, login-protected platform will be provided via a German academic network called “Hochschulforum Digitalisierung” (HFD), which allows a simple login to Mattermost. Each participant will soon receive a tutorial how to login by email. If you don ́t get this email or you have a technical problem, please, contact our technical support via email (supportMeeting2020@mail.de) or Skype (SupportMeeting2020).Within Mattermost, we have created a team for the meeting, named UV4Plants2020. We will invite you to this team by email. This team is only accessible for registered participants. The lecture sessions, “coffee” breaks and poster sessions of each day will take place as a Zoom meeting. We will offer a public support service for testing Mattermost on Monday, October 12th from 12:00 – 14:00 CEST. Furthermore, on each day of the meeting the hours from 10:00 – 12:00 CEST and from 18:00 – 20:00 CEST are open for all participants to visit the poster channel, chat or initiate jitsi video meetings (which can be organized within Mattermost), and for speakers to test their screen sharing, video and audio connections.Posters sessions will be organized in Zoom as breakout rooms, one room for each poster. The format of a poster should be a single slide powerpoint or pdf file in 16:9 (preferably) or 4:3 landscape format, not portrait. The presenters will show their poster during the sessions via screen sharing. Therefore, you do not need to send the poster files to us. However, we ask all poster presenters to send us an image (png, jpeg or tiff) of your poster until October 6th! If not denied by the author, we will upload these images onto the conference platform before the meeting begins. These images will allow participants to watch the posters all the time at their own pace. However, the images will be downloadable by the participants, but only by the participants. This is a secure, login-protected site, which is only accessible to participants of the meeting! During the poster sessions, the participants can move from one breakout room to another one to see the posters. The presenters should stay in their poster room and can e.g. zoom into the posters when required. Please, remember to send us your poster saved as .png, .jpeg or .tiff until October 6th!We are looking forward to see you soon in the UV4Plants2020 team on Mattermost!Frauke Pescheck and Wolfgang Bilger ...
